ABOUT

Vincent Roland Simone is the founder of “The Regulars”, an altruistically driven international team of charitable mountain climbers built on the ideals of regular people, adventure, hard work, & self-sacrifice. In 2005 Simone created the “10 Mountains 10 Years” project: the longest, highest, and most arduous outdoor epic awareness and fund raising campaign of its kind. The project continues to evolve with the times and the needs of the people it seeks to champion. The project became the subject of an award winning motion picture documentary by Jennifer Yee featuring Anne Hathaway (narration), Bruce Springsteen (soundtrack), and Leeza Gibbons (Introduction). "The Regulars" have become an international symbol of hope to the Alzheimer's and Parkinson's communities worldwide.

Simone and fellow Parkinson's advocate Fulvio Capitanio both took part in a 2014 Parkinson's awareness journey across Spain on El Camino (Mozarabe) with 20 other people struggling with Parkinson's Disease. The effort was filmed for a Spanish feature film documentary. On June 1st. the following year the theatrical premiere of “Que Tiemble el Camino” was held in Valencia Spain.

Simone spent 20 years in the political sector serving in on various municipal planning boards. He was also a former district leader in two towns, managed various local political campaigns, and he has also run for political office. Upon his mothers diagnosis with Alzheimer's Disease and his Father-in-Law's diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease, Simone stepped away from the political sphere in order to become a disease advocate / activist. In more recent years, Simone has spent time meeting with New York State Legislators, as well as United States Senate & Congressional representatives in Washington DC during the Alzheimer’s Public Policy Forums and Parkinson’s Action Network Forums.

In 2010 he received the Renee Pollack Award for Distinguished Serviced from the Alzheimer’s Association. He was prominently featured by Michael J. Fox on the very first "Team Fox" commercial for Michael J. Fox Foundation. From Barcelona to Los Angeles and from Miami to Boston, he has been a sought-after inspirational speaker. Simone has been also been featured in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times and many others. Likewise he has appeared on a number of news broadcasts both on TV & Radio.

Inspired by a meeting with Leeza Gibbon’s, Vincent Roland Simone created the “Army of Change” project in 2010. The event brought together 4 national Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s charities and over 200 advocates from across the United States to climb Mount Washington in New Hampshire. The inaugural event raised nearly $100,000 for the charities involved, and provided a model for advocates worldwide.

Upon hearing of the “Army of Change” event and seeing the “10 Mountains 10 Years” film documentary, former NBA Rookie All-Star Brian Grant created the Brian Grant Foundation’s – “Grant’s Army”. Vincent helped to lead the team up Mount Saint Helen’s Volcano in 2012. Further inspired and wanting a massive project of their own, the Europeans asked Vincent to create something big in Europe. To answer their call, in 2015 Vincent Roland Simone, Salvatore Buccoleri, and Fulvio Capitanio created the “Ambassador Project” to lead upwards of 100 people from 4 countries to their metaphorical & physical goals at the summit of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The "Ambassador Project" is the international version of the "Army of Change" project which acts domestically in the United States.

It has always been one of Vincent Roland Simone’s goals to motivate legions of advocates to become more proactive in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease research and care programs. Simone and his team have collectively earned a following of about 50,000 people globally with more every day. A number of these followers have since been inspired to become advocates & activists themselves and create awareness projects of their own.

Both in sickness and in health over 400 people have now climbed on Simone's team "The Regulars". Many have doubted their ability to succeed, but encouraged by Simone and other teammates they begin their journey to becoming an advocate. One step after the next and with great perseverance they reach their summits, and are forever changed by the experience. Upon congratulating new members of his advocacy team after reaching the top of their first mountain Simone often remarks;

"This was just the beginning. One down, World up".
