The Master Advocate

It was a quick in and out as Director Luke Chadwick-Jones flew into Barcelona Spain to document Fulvio Capitanio for the "Pilgrimage to Enlightenment" movie. Day Number 6 of filming was a success.

Fulvio took a simple idea, and went on to spread it all over the world.

Fulvio Capitanio was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and forced into retirement at an early age. Like many, he could have resigned to his conditions and his challenging situation then disappeared into obscurity, but he didn't. Instead, motivated to raise awareness and driven by sheer will to become part of the force which would ultimately conquer Parkinson’s Disease he created “Run for Parkinson’s”. Many have said it takes big money to accomplish great things, but Fulvio has proven them all wrong.

From it’s origins in a single town, and on a near zero budget "Run for Parkinson's" has grown into a world-wide awareness raising giant. The project is now going into its 10th year. Through-out that time the project evolution has witnessed its expansion to over 100 cities in 14 countries, and has been attended by more than 200 thousand people who have collectively walked and run over 1 million kilometers. “Run for Parkinson’s” is the largest grassroots Parkinson's awareness effort in the world.

Fulvio (who is the namesake for the 10 Mountains 10 Years - "Ambassador Project") is a giant among grassroots advocates, but he didn't not start that way. In the beginning he was a simple man diagnosed by Parkinson's Disease, who lost his job then went on to find his greatness on the world stage as an advocate.
